Product Description
Gamma Acid is utilized as a raw material to produce various dyes, including acid dyes and metal complex dyes. This is also utilized as a dyeing assistant to improve the dyeing properties of textiles. Gamma Acid is prepared by reacting 2-naphthylamine-6-sulfonic acid with sodium nitrite and hydrochloric acid, followed by coupling with diazotized 8-hydroxyquinoline-5-sulfonic acid. The resulting compound is then treated with sodium hydroxide to produce the final product. This is also utilized as a pH indicator, as it changes color from yellow to red as the pH of the solution increases from acidic to alkaline.
